As senior vice president and general manager of the accounting professionals division, Jill Ward leads Intuit’s efforts to develop products and services that help accountants increase their productivity and grow their practices. Additionally, her teams develop programs to help accountants recommend the right Intuit offerings to help their small business clients succeed.
Ward joined Intuit in 2001 as the vice president and general manager of QuickBase and went on to lead the company’s vertical solutions businesses. Previously, she served as vice president of Accountant Central, responsible for strengthening Intuit’s relationships with accountants.


Before coming to Intuit, Ward held senior positions at financial and business services companies, including Fidelity Investments, and Bain and Company. She holds a master’s in business administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth. In 2008, “Accounting Today” magazine named her as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in accounting.

Amy Vetter, CPA.CITP is a Major Accounts Manager for Intuit - Southeast Region - where she consults with larger CPA firms on the use of Intuit software for their clients. In this role Amy provides guidance almost exclusively within the mid-market sector. Previously, Amy was Executive Director of Technology In A Box and President of AV Accounting Services, Inc. in Florida where end-to-end financial, operational and technology solutions and accounting services are delivered to their clients. Prior to Technology In A Box, Amy’s diverse background includes internal auditing, financial and operational process improvement for Fortune 500 companies and private industries, as well as external financial statement audit work for KPMG. Amy is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Intuit Solution Provider and a National Speaker and Writer on QuickBooks and Business Development topics for Intuit, Inc. and various CPA Societies and Consulting groups across the country. She has been a participant in the Accountant and Advisory Customer Council for Intuit, Inc. during 2006-2008 and the Intuit Solution Provider Advisory Council for 2009-2010.  Amy has been recognized by The CPA Technology Advisor as an outstanding 40 under 40 technology-based Accountant in 2006 and 2009, was awarded South Florida Business Journal's Up & Comer Award in 2007 for her expertise in accounting and is a member of the Technology Advisory Panel for AICPA's Journal of Accountancy.

BJ Schaknowski

Director of Intuit Solution Provider Channel

 

BJ will deliver the mid-conference keynote address

 

BJ joined Intuit in 2008 to lead Intuit’s Mid Market and Retail Solution direct and channel sales teams. In 2009 he transitioned into a new role where he is responsible for the overall development and execution of the company’s newly consolidated solution provider channel strategy. Before joining Intuit, BJ held several senior positions at Sage Software including leading sales operations and strategy, M&A and North American customer migration. He held senior sales leadership positions with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers where he oversaw enterprise sales to the Fortune 500 and with Knowledge Alliance, a VC funded technology training firm, where he helped build the sales organization from the ground up. BJ spent eight years serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in the infantry and is an active marathoner and Ironman triathlete. He holds a BA from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a MBA from The University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business.
 

Jacint Tumacder
Product Manager for QuickBooks Accountant

 

Jacint will present on QuickBooks Accountant

 

As product manager for QuickBooks Accountant, Jacint Tumacder is responsible for driving product changes that help accountants and bookkeepers increase their productivity. Jacint joined Intuit in 1992 and has been helping QuickBooks customers since day 1. He started as a tech support rep on the initial team that supported the very first version of QuickBooks. He then moved to the QuickBooks product development team and leveraged what he learned helping over 13,000 customers with their QuickBooks support questions to drive numerous product fixes and enhancements. Today, Jacint continues to learn from customers by visiting local accountants, participating in internal advisory councils, and by attending accounting trade shows so he can keep advocating for solutions that matter most to them.

Pat Bhatt
Senior Product Manager - QuickBooks Accountant (Intuit Statement Writer)

 

Pat will present on Intuit Statement Writer

 

Pat Bhatt has worked at Intuit for 7 years, first as an engineer (2.5 years) then later as a Product Manager (4.5 years). He currently manages Intuit Statement Writer, EasyAcct, and parts of the QuickBooks Accountant suite. Pat’s prior experience includes Goldman Sachs and General Electric, and he holds the following degrees: an MBA in Finance from NYU, and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the Indian Institute of Science. In addition to all the technical things he knows, he is an accomplished pianist, an avid sailor and he is into Fitness in a big way (although he says he doesn’t look like a fitness freak!) When not at work, Pat enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young children (a boy and a girl, aged 9 and 8).

Melissa Tahan is a member of Intuit Payments Solutions’ product management team and has helped develop innovative payments acceptance solutions such as Check Solution for QuickBooks. She is a recent graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management’s MBA program and resides in Mountain View, CA.

Aaron Brady
Senior Product Manager - Intuit ProLine Practice Management

Aaron Brady has worked at Intuit for 8 years, first as a Lacerte Tax Analyst/Engineer (4.5 years) then later as a Senior Product Manager (3.5 years). He currently is leading the development and release of APD’s newest offering, ProLine Practice Management. Prior to Intuit, Aaron worked as a tax accountant for both Ernst & Young and KPMG and holds a Masters of Accountancy from Brigham Young University. In addition to helping Intuit find great new solutions that help accountants save time, Aaron enjoys traveling throughout India and Africa, is an avid mountain biker and loves to spend time with his wife, 2 children (a girl and boy, aged 11 and 6) and 4 Leonberger dogs.

Tim Teichman
Staff Quality Assurance Engineer

As a member of the End to End Quality team, Tim’s recent responsibilities include working with Accountants, Pro Advisors, and with Engineering teams to implement features and other changes often requested by accountants. He recently designed and drove over twenty payroll changes in response to Accountant feedback. These features now appear in QuickBooks 2010 and 2011. He is also the author of the various Excel-based payroll reports, Including the Client Ready Payroll Reports. Tim joined Intuit in 1992 and has held roles in Technical Support, Data Recovery Services, as a QA Engineer, QA Manager, Program Manager, and PD Customer Advocate. Returning from a recent leave, he is again planning features for future QuickBooks Payroll offerings to better help Accountants use our Employer Services and he continues to seek feedback from Accountants and Pro Advisors.

Howard Shen
Senior Product Manager

 

Howard will present on ways to provide new value-added services to your clients

 

Howard Shen leads the creation and execution of connected services and mobile products for Intuit’s Accounting Professionals Division (APD) as a senior product manager. In this role, Howard has worked on APD’s SaaS-based offerings, QuickBooks offerings, and mobile products.

Howard joined Intuit in 2008. Prior to Intuit, Howard held a number of positions in the technology industry including running his own web-based Silicon Valley startup, as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, and started his career in software development for GPS devices. He holds master’s degrees in business administration and engineering systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as BS and MS engineering degrees from Stanford University.
